Why Canada

WHY CANADA

The United Nations has consistently selected Canada as one of the best countries in which to live. Now you can have the chance to live in Canada too. With its breathtaking natural beauty, comfort that it offers, freely-accessible health and social security system, high education level and clean natural surroundings, Canada is just the right place to settle and have a family.

Canada was shaped by its immigrants and the greatest support to the aging population of Canada still comes from immigrants. Today, Canada welcomes immigrants from 150 different countries on a yearly basis and is proud of its multiculturalism.
In Canada, you will have a chance to fully benefit from the economic system. Furthermore, thanks to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, your rights will be protected just like any other Canadian citizen. The Charter guarantees freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and freedom to peaceful assembly. Moreover, it also protects against discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, age or sexual orientation. In short, as a landed immigrant, you have the same rights and protection as any other Canadian citizen.

CANADA FOR EDUCATION

The Canadian educational system is one of the best in the world. As a result of the rights you will gain as an immigrant, your children's elementary and secondary education will be free. Depending on your child's age and educational background, he/she may have the opportunity to study in an English/French environment or to pursue an International Baccalaureate.
Canadian universities are much more affordable than those in the United States. Moreover, rather than paying the inflated university tuition that foreign students must pay, landed immigrants pay the same tuition as other Canadian citizens. Moreover, many Canadian universities offer an optional co-operative education (co-op) component by which the student alternates his/her studies with paid relevant work experience that the university may locate on his/her behalf.

CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP

After your residence of 3 years (1095 days) in Canada, you are entitled to apply for Canadian citizenship. You will be assessed through a test in which you will be required to answer questions about the general make-up and the political system of Canada. Your knowledge of English or French may also be evaluated by the citizenship judge. You may find it useful to attend citizenship courses in order to succeed at these exams. These courses are free of charge and you will find them in your local area.

Once you become a Canadian citizen, you are entitled to the right to vote and to a Canadian passport.
